As I as watching in the night, I saw dimly a great cobra sweeping over our land. At first, he was hard to perceive. He was massive, and dust was swept up under his belly everywhere he went over the dry, dusty land. I knew he was the great deceiver and he was coming to Australia. Sadly, he didn’t look out of place, he’d become familiar to our land and the dusty soil was prepared for him (Genesis 3:14).
Suddenly, I saw a Great shadow cast over him. I looked up and saw a Great eagle soaring above him. The eagle too was massive, it was a multitude in One form. I watched, waiting for it to strike and attack the cobra. I knew the eagle could pick it up with it’s feet at any moment, drop the cobra and it would fall to it’s death. But the eagle just soared above, watching. Full of wisdom and peace. Power under perfect control, the Great Eagle held it’s position. Soaring in it’s authority the Heavenlies, casting it’s shadow over him.
“Have you not known?
Have you not heard?
The everlasting God, YHWH
The Creator of the ends of the earth,
Neither faints nor is weary.
His understanding is unsearchable.
He gives power to the weak, and to those who have no might He increases strength.
Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall,
But those who wait on YHWH
Shall renew their strength
They shall mount up with wings like eagles,
They shall run and not be weary
They shall walk and not faint.
Keep silence before Me O coastlands, and let the people renew their strength!
Let them come near, then let them speak
Let us come near together for judgement.”
Isaiah 40:28 – 41:1
I encourage you to be still and meditate through the declarations of Psalm 91.
The Great Eagle is Jesus! El Shaddai! He soars in the Heavenlies and we are One with Him, in His Feathers because that’s where we have made our dwelling, our home!
The Great Eagle is the multimembered church raised up in victory in Christ, Eph.2:20-23. Notice Isaiah writes ‘they’ as plural, not as just individuals? God is gathering His sons and daughters to arise and sit with Him! We are in the earth like the eagle, yet we are seated in heavenly places. With all authority OVER the enemy – just like the Eagle was soaring, at REST, casting it’s shadow over him. We are seated with Christ, and He is in control. He has commissioned us to take dominion in the earth, the gates of hades shall not prevail. No weapon shall prosper for Jesus Christ says, “SEE I give you the authority to trample on snakes, scorpions, and over ALL the power of the enemy and NOTHING shall by ANY means hurt you” Luke 10:19. Arise! Rule and reign with Christ who has made us kings in the Earth, Revelation 5:10.
Psalm 91 is alive to me through this vision. No wonder the terror by night, arrow by day or destruction at noonday won’t come near us – WE ARE IN THE EAGLE. Even though a thousand may fall at our side, it shall not come near us. No evil shall befall us, nor any plague come near our dwelling because we are in the Eagle. Verse 13 declares the cobra, the king snake, (KJV) the dragon himself is under our feet! I believe casting our shadow over him, is a picture of how God has placed every enemy under our feet. See the Authority of our Great God, and the authority He has given you.
What is our response? Abide in Him. Now is the time. He is gathering His sons and daughters together in One Body, His Body.
Be still. You are hidden in Christ. Under His feathers. As Psalm 91 paints, our focus is to be on God. He is our refuge and He is watching, with perfect control over the plans of the enemy.
“BECAUSE he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him.I will set him ON HIGH, because he has KNOWN MY NAME.
He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him,
I with him in trouble
I will deliver him and honour him.
With long life I will satisfy him,
And SHOW him My salvation.”
Psalm 91:14 – 16
Truly, set your love upon Him! Is Jesus your First love? Do you turn when you hear His voice and follow Him? Give Him your first, your waking moments before you face each day. Intimately, know His name. God has highly exalted Him and given Him the Name which is ABOVE every name JESUS!
For His everlasting Love for you, Jesus The Mighty God, The Everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace (Isiah 9:6) accomplished salvation for you and all who will receive Him. Set your love, your first love upon Him and you will soar in His Victory!
